Leadership isn’t about a job title. It’s about how we show up for our teams, how we handle conversations that matter, and how we lead with confidence and compassion – especially when things feel stretched.
To support this, the CSs workforce and Od team are launching a Foundations of Leadership Training programme for Band 7 and 8a colleagues, offering a practical, face‑to‑face development opportunity focused on real‑world people management.
What’s the programme about?
This training is designed to build confidence in everyday leadership. It focuses on the moments that matter most – conversations, decisions, and how we support and lead our people well.
The sessions will cover:
- Compassionate leadership and effective people management
- The power of conversation – having the right ones, at the right time
- Understanding and applying people management principles in practice
The emphasis is practical, supportive and grounded in the reality of working in CSS.
Who is it for?
The programme is aimed at Band 7 and 8a colleagues across CSS who have people management responsibilities or are developing their leadership capability.
It’s ideal if you:
- Are new to managing people
- Want to strengthen your confidence as a leader
- Are looking for a safe, supportive space to reflect and learn with peers
