From 15 September 2026, MFT is switching from Dalteparin to Tinzaparin for adult patients across all sites. The change supports patient safety by introducing a single low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) suitable for patients with advanced renal impairment and also supports the Trust’s Value for Patients programme.
All colleagues who will prescribe, administer and supply Tinzaparin should complete the e-learning module by Friday 11th September.
The training explains the rationale for the change, the new dosing regimen and what you need to know to prescribe and administer Tinzaparin safely and confidently. It takes 20 minutes to complete.
