Thank You for Making a Difference
As Civility Month comes to a close, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone across CSS who got involved. From team conversations and civility pledges to sharing stories, attending sessions and supporting colleagues, you’ve helped keep the message alive that civility is everybody’s business.
The campaign focused on personal responsibility, active bystandership, maintaining respect under pressure and making lasting commitments to positive workplace culture.
A special thank you goes to Critical Care, whose outstanding commitment continues to lead the way. With 18 Civility Champions trained and a strong culture of engagement, the team has played a key role in helping spread civility across CSS.
We’re delighted to share some of the fantastic civility pledges submitted during the month. These pledges demonstrate the small actions that make a big difference in creating respectful, compassionate and psychologically safe workplaces.
The conversation doesn’t end here. If you’d like to build your confidence in speaking up and supporting colleagues when you witness inappropriate behaviour, places are available on the CSS Active Bystander course. The sessions explore what it means to be an active bystander, why people don’t always act, and practical ways to intervene safely and effectively.
Together, let’s keep civility visible, keep the conversation going and continue building a culture where everyone feels respected, valued and heard. 💙
