New go-live date: Tinzaparin replaces Dalteparin from 15 September

Prescribers must complete e-learning ahead of Tinzaparin switch

Switch from Dalteparin to Tinzaparin: For adult patients across MFT sites

The Trust will be switching to Tinzaparin for adult patients across MFT on the morning of Tuesday 15 September 2026.

The module explains the rationale for the change, the dosing regimen and the process for preparation and administration of Tinzaparin injections.

All colleagues who will prescribe, administer and supply Tinzaparin should complete the e-learning module by Friday 11 September.

The way Tinzaparin is prepared and administered differs from current practice. The 20-30 minute mandatory training explains the preparation and administration process and should be completed before go-live.

Achieving at least 80% training compliance before go-live is critical. Please reinforce messages locally, support completion of training and encourage colleagues to prepare for the change.

Your support to ensure the training is completed in preparation for the go live date is appreciated.
