Six years after having a lifesaving stem cell transplant with us at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Steve has completed the 1,000-mile cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats ![]()
Steve was training to complete the ride in 2019, when a routine GP check-up changed his life. He was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer and told he needed a stem cell transplant.
Steve underwent two transplants and spent five months in hospital before beginning his road to recovery.

Now 64, Steve has completed the challenge he first set himself before his diagnosis, raising £7,500 for Anthony Nolan and continuing to support other patients through his role as one of our Public Governors.
Congratulations to Steve on an incredible achievement! ![]()
