Ava gains Certificate of Expert Practice in Leadership and Management

Ava Brockbank has been a Biomedical Scientist at MFT since 2013. In 2018 she stepped into a rotational Senior Biomedical Scientist role working across Haematology and Blood Transfusion. In this role Ava was integral to the validation and adoption of the IT transformational changes in March 2025.

In January 2026 Ava stepped into a new role as the Transfusion Laboratory Manager for Oxford Road Campus (ORC) and Trafford General Hospital (TGH). Leading one of the most complex and extensive specialist transfusion services in the UK has already presented many challenges. Ava has faced these challenges head on and demonstrated leadership, integrity, and ability to manage our complex service in a short period of time.

To compliment this role Ava has been studying with the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) and has recently been successful in gaining her Certificate of Expert Practice (CEP) in Leadership and Management.

A great achievement, huge congratulations from the team Ava! We are excited to see you lead the ORC and TGH service in its new chapter at MFT.
