The MRI Ward 14 team reduces unnecessary tests by 57% in the Share to Save scheme

We’ve had a fantastic response to Share to Save so far – thank you to everyone who has submitted an idea. Behind the scenes, teams are reviewing submissions and will be responding to everyone to provide an update and next steps.

One great example of the impact a simple idea can have comes from Ward 14 at MRI. The team challenged whether all routine blood tests were necessary, and with the support of Ordering Wisely, changed the way they worked. This saw them reduce unnecessary tests by 57%, improve patient experience and save more than £7,000 a year.

Watch Dr Katherine Ajdukiewicz, CSS Medical Director, talk about how this is such a powerful example of colleagues turning insight into action, and why you should submit a Share to Save idea. If something in your area could work better, tell us! Submit your idea here.
