Celebrating Our Nurses: Learning, Laughter and Team Spirit in CTCCU

This year’s International Nurses Day celebrations in CTCCU brought colleagues together in a way that felt both meaningful and joyful, an opportunity to pause, reflect and celebrate the incredible contribution of our nursing teams.

A group of seven women standing together in front of a screen displaying 'TRIBUTE TO ALL OUR CTCCU NURSES'. They are smiling and posing for the photo. One woman is dressed in a traditional nurse's outfit, while the others wear casual and traditional clothing.

The day had a real sense of energy and togetherness. Everyone had a fantastic time, with a wide range of food and refreshments enjoyed across the team, creating space for people to connect and celebrate together.

A standout feature of the day was a series of creative and engaging skits delivered by the team. These brought important patient safety themes to life, including infection prevention, medication errors, and responding to patient complaints—but with humour and relatability that made them land.

“It’s fantastic to see our teams creating space to come together, reflect and learn in such a positive and engaging way. These moments really matter because they strengthen connection, support learning and remind us of the compassion and professionalism at the heart of everything our nurses do.”
— Sarah Ingleby, Director of Nursing and Healthcare Professionals CSS

The celebrations were also supported by our Anaesthetic colleagues, whose contribution of petty cash helped make the event possible, another reminder of the strength of teamwork across services.

Moments like this matter. They give teams space to reconnect with each other, to learn in a safe and supportive way, and to feel recognised for the work they do every day.

Thank you to everyone involved in organising and taking part.
