The nomination window for this year’s CSS Star Awards has now officially closed — and what a response it has been.
We’re delighted to share that we received an incredible 678 nominations, far surpassing any previous year. This means over 10% of our CSS workforce has been recognised by colleagues — a brilliant reflection of the impact our people make every day.
A snapshot of nominations by division:
- ACCP: 167
- Pharmacy: 159
- AHPs: 98
- Corporate: 95
- Laboratory Medicine: 94
- Imaging: 47
- Other: 18
Across the categories, Going the Extra Mile was the most popular, closely followed by Rising Star. We also saw a 50% increase in nominations for the Improvement, Innovation and Sustainability category — a great sign of the focus on driving positive change across CSS.
A huge thank you
Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate a colleague or team. The quality of nominations has been exceptional — thoughtful, detailed, and full of pride. It’s clear just how much great work is happening across CSS every day, often quietly and without recognition.
What happens next?
Shortlisting will now begin. Gareth Adams and the CSS senior leadership team will review every single nomination — and they really do read them all. (Yes, all 678.)
Given the strength and volume of submissions this year, shortlisting will be no easy task.
What to expect
Finalists will be notified before 1 June, so please keep an eye on your emails.
The CSS Star Awards ceremony will take place on 3 July 2026 at the Whitworth Art Gallery — a chance to come together and celebrate the incredible people behind these nominations.
This year’s response speaks for itself. Whether you’ve been nominated or nominated someone else — thank you for helping shine a light on the people who make CSS what it is.
