Staff Survey results Published

We’ve launched a new, interactive hub to help everyone explore the 2025 Staff Survey results – a key part of how we listen to your voice at MFT.

The hub gives you clearer access to the data, helps us understand what’s important to you and where we can improve your experience of working at MFT. This reflects our values of being curious, collaborative and inclusive and ensures the survey belongs to everyone, not just managers.

Your responses remain anonymous, with results only shown for groups of more than nine people. You can now access the hub via EWIP3 (onsite or via VPN).

Click here for more information or here to find out how you can join one of our learning sessions to help you interpret your results and shape your team’s action plan.

The CSS Picture

Thank you to everyone across CSS who took the time to complete the 2025 NHS Staff Survey. 2,092 of you shared your views, giving us a CSS response rate of 40.2% – the highest response rate across all Clinical Groups at MFT, your willingness to contribute, particularly during a year of continued operational pressure and change, is appreciated.

The national results were published on the 12th March 26. While results nationally remain broadly stable, some indicators – especially those linked to staff wellbeing – have declined. Within this wider picture, the CSS results show a mixed but clear story about where we are and where we need to focus next.

What the CSS results show

Across CSS, two People Promise themes improved: ‘We work flexibly’ (+0.07) and ‘We are a team’ (+0.04). Both reflect the work you and your leaders have put into strengthening teamwork, supporting work–life balance, and making flexible working more accessible across our services.

Our highest‑scoring theme remains ‘We are compassionate and inclusive’, stable at 7.14, and driven in part by improvements in diversity, equality and compassionate leadership.

However, several areas declined. These include:

  • Recognition and reward (‑0.03)
  • Voice and involvement (‑0.04)
  • Safe and healthy (‑0.08), with burnout scoring 4.88 – one of our lowest scores
  • Always learning, driven by a low appraisals score of 4.74
  • Staff engagement (‑0.11), with the biggest drop in advocacy (‑0.16)
  • Morale (‑0.06), shaped by a fall in perceived work pressures (‑0.15).

These results reflect what many of you have told us directly: this has been a challenging year. Ongoing service pressures and the One MFT consultation have affected different parts of CSS in different ways.

What happens next

Over the coming weeks, we will analyse the results in more depth, including free‑text comments once available. This will inform our CSS priorities for 2026 and the action plans we build with teams.

To support this, we are launching a refreshed engagement strategy across 2026, where colleagues from all areas will help us explore the results and co‑design our next steps. More information on how to participate will follow. We will also continue to work closely with Staff Side, Trade Unions and our Staff Networks to ensure the actions we take reflect the diverse voices and experiences across CSS.

Thank you once again for sharing your views. Every voice counts – and your feedback provides a clear mandate for the improvements we need to make so CSS continues to be a place where people feel valued, supported and able to thrive.
