Christmas pay date
This year’s December pay date has been confirmed for Monday, 22 December.
Support for anyone facing financial pressures this winter
December and January can be especially tough financially for patients and staff, with colder weather, Christmas costs and rising prices. You can signpost patients who may be struggling to national NHS schemes that help with travel, prescriptions and other healthcare costs. Our Citizens Advice team is also available to offer guidance on benefits, debt or housing. Referrals can be made in Hive (inpatients only) or by email here.
We also want colleagues to know that support is available – if you’re finding this period challenging, you’re not alone. Our Employee Health and Wellbeing team offer a range of resources, including Winter Wellness guidance, to help with emotional and mental wellbeing. Our Rewards and Benefits team also provide tools which can help you manage financial pressures and direct you to confidential debt advice.

Reminder: Christmas Taxi bookings
Taxis will be available for eligible colleagues to travel to and from work on Christmas Day (Thursday, 25 December), Boxing Day (Friday, 26 December), and New Year’s Day (Thursday, 1 January). Taxis will need to be booked through the ATOM taxi booking system using the Festive button before 3pm on Wednesday, 17 December. Click here to find out more.
Reminder: Festive Season: IPC and Fire Safety Guidance
It’s a tradition to hang Christmas decorations and celebrate the festive season in our hospitals and workplaces, but it’s important to maintain infection prevention and control (IPC) and fire safety standards. With increased infections during the winter months, it’s even more important to ensure our Trust is a safe place to be treated, to visit and to work. Click here to read safety guidance for the festive period.
