Disability History Month 2025: Disability, Life and Death

UK Disability History Month 2025 (20 Nov–20 Dec) focuses on the theme “Disability, Life and Death.” It explores how society values disabled lives, challenges barriers, and promotes inclusion. Events across the UK highlight history, rights, and lived experiences, encouraging reflection and action for equality.

Please see below for the events arranged to support this month.

Employment in the NHS for Staff with a Disability – Panel Discussion

As part of Disability History Month at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team will be hosting a panel event via webinar entitled “Employment in the NHS for Staff with a Disability.”

NHS staff members who have both professional experience in the NHS and personal experience living with a disability will participate in this panel event.

The panel members will be:

Tourettes Action – Webinar

Workplace Training: Supporting Neurodiversity – Tourette Syndrome Awareness

Session is designed to equip employers, managers, and colleagues with the knowledge and tools to better understand Tourette syndrome (TS) and foster an inclusive, neurodiverse workplace environment.

Non-Visible Disabilities Listening Event

The Diverse Abilities staff Network (DAN) are pleased to invite you to a Listening Event about Non-visible Disabilities, where your insights and experiences will help shape future improvements across our workplace.

This interactive, informal session is a safe space to share your thoughts, lived experience, and contribute ideas. You can also share feedback via Mentimeter during the session, so you have the option to share openly and anonymously.
