As the Manchester and Trafford Community Diagnostic Centre (MTCDC) is introducing a new building to the WCH site we are reviewing the external wayfinding signage to ensure patients and visitors can effectively navigate to the correct building.
Below are our initial thoughts on how this could work including a marked up map.

Please feel free to share with your teams who will be working out of MTCDC or at WCH site.

- The new building will be named – Manchester & Trafford Community Diagnostic Centre – this will be utilised on all signage.
- There will be external name signage on the building itself on both ‘towers’ where the stairs and lifts are situated.
- MTCDC will only be signposted to externally, no MTCDC signage will be present inside WCH apart from the site map located at the entrance of the WCH which will be updated to include MTCDC.
- New signage to be implemented at the entrance of the car park, Buccleuch Lodge car park entrance, strategic point of the main car park and potential end of the car park near accessible car parking bays for MTCDC Building.
- New and/or updated signage to be implemented:
- On both sides of the SMIT unit.
- At the existing and new pedestrian entrance from Burton Road.
- Around the car park areas (finger pointer style signs).
- We will also explore with MCC the possibility of signage to be implemented at the junction between Nell Lane and Princess Road.
