A collaboration between Lancaster Uni and MFT has been awarded the Mal Morgan award for the “educational team of the year”, from the Association of Anaesthetists.
The award recognises our work in designing, developing and delivering a semi-immersive learning experience based on a multi-perspective recording of the induction of general anaesthesia, with learning outcomes relating to pharmacology, physiology, airway management, teamwork, abs patient safety. The teaching is delivered in the state-of-the art “data immersion suite” at a Lancaster University, to undergraduate medical students.
Collaborators from MFT include Clifford L Shelton, Consultant Anaesthetist, Wythenshawe Hospital, Professor in Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, Lancaster Medical Schoo. Also, Mike Bassett, Consultant Anaesthetist), Pedro Labanca and Vanessa Lozano, edical videographers, John Stanton, ODP, and Kate Wainwright, Resident Anaesthetist.
