The Sustainability Team are offering all staff the opportunity to complete Carbon Literacy For Healthcare Training free of charge, to learn about environmental sustainability, climate change, and the carbon impacts of everyday activities at home and at work in the wider NHS.
By taking part in Carbon Literacy Training for Healthcare, you will learn more about our environmental targets, and how you can be part of the change at MFT. The training involves half a day of online modules (self-led teaching) followed by a half-day in-person workshop led by the Sustainability Team. At the end, you will be certified Carbon Literate in line with The Carbon Literacy Project and you can earn Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points from completing the training. To date, over 100,000 people from more than 7,000 organisations across 33 countries are certified carbon literate through the training.
We are running a session on the 11th of November in Meeting room 1, Nowgen Centre, ORC, from 9am-1pm. This training session also overlaps with Carbon Literacy Action Day, where people all over the globe will be completing the training in the world’s largest climate education event of its kind!
To express your interest in the training and let us know of any accessibility requirements you have, please fill out this form.
If you have any questions about the training, MFT’s environmental targets, or the Sustainability Team, please contact us at timetoact@mft.nhs.uk.
We hope to see you there!
“The session is not only very interesting but is essential, the training really spells out the size of the issue and brings home that we all need to do our part to save the planet.” – Testimonial from MFT staff member who has completed the training.
Best wishes,
The MFT Sustainability Team
