The Gorton Monastery Manchester on Thursday 25th September from 7:00pm is launching Black History Month in true Pan-African style marking 80 years since the historic 5th Pan-African Congress, right here in Manchester.
A momentous occasion in 1945 helped shape Africa’s future igniting the fight for independence across the continent and planting seeds of unity, resistance, and revolution.
Now, eight decades on, we gather to reflect, remember, and celebrate its enduring legacy.
Expect an evening rich in culture, music, reflection, and community celebration. There’ll be live performances, keynote messages, and creative showcases honouring Black resistance and excellence from the past, present and future.
