A fantastic documentary on CSS’ Specialised Ability Centre (SAC) aired on BBC North West Today and Tonight, you can view them in their entirety below.

This instalment focuses on the impact diabetes is having on the typical age of amputees and how our team fit prosthetic limbs. The episode includes interviews with:
- Sophie Racz, Physiotherapist
- Shannon Hughes, Prosthetist
- Dr Bhaskar Basu, Clinical Lead
- Senior physiotherapist Adam El-Sayed
Tonight’s episode will focus on how the service supports children and will follow the journey of a patient named River.

Third episode

This episode focuses on the journey of River-Lucia, one of the children supported by the centre, who was also invited by the BBC to watch the piece live from their viewing gallery. The BBC have said they will send over pictures of River-Lucia and her mother at the studio for use on our social media channels.
Lara Littler, Centre Manager and Shannon Hughes, Prosthetist, are our two colleagues who feature in this episode.
Fourth episode
The penultimate episode looks at the latest technologies employed by SAC and includes interviews with patients and colleagues. Our colleagues interviewed are:

- Lara Littler, Centre Manager
- Paul Rastegar, Prosthetic Technician
- Chris Johnstone, Prosthetic Technician
There will also be some some bonus coverage over the weekend.
BBC One plan to run one of the episodes on Saturday’s BBC Breakfast and the national BBC News team will be releasing a second written piece on the service, following on from the article they ran on River-Lucia.
