The new blood transfusion system, which will make the transfusion experience smoother and safer for our patients, has now gone live.
The first transfusion using the new system was successfully carried out at 08:50 at Wythenshawe Hospital – a huge thank you to everyone for their dedication and hard work in making this milestone possible.
The coming days will be a period of getting used to the new system and the benefits it will bring, and you find everything key information and benefits here.
To avoid delays in the processing and rejection of samples in the laboratories, please can colleagues ensure they are adhering to the Two Sample Requirement and the need for two separate electronic requests.
